Nick kicks back at BlizzCon to reacquaint himself with his dear friend the wizaaaaaaard and befriend Diablo 3's monk. Even Maarten's in on the fun, hitting up Gamescom to enjoy countless video games in a sophisticated European manner including Borderlands, which he said looked particularly splendid before sucking on a clove cigarillo.
Me? Well, knowing that events are far more work than they might appear to be, I'm secretly a little glad that I end up staffing the office to post the flood of media, even if it does mean I miss out on playing all the fancy pants video games before the hoi polloi.

Horde sizes are pretty huge and the campaign itself is a little long. But it's high quality stuff for a custom campaign. I thought the parking lot part of the campaign was great. Highly recommended.

Looks pretty good but there were many times when there were no zombies at all in the forest parts of the campaign. Could probably use a little more work and tweaking. Nothing special.

Huge, massive map based on the castle fortress thing in LOTR. There are tons of health kits, propane tanks, gas cans, etc. Despite the epic size, it was pretty fun with friends. It's even got it's own music! Highlyl recommended.

It's de_dust2 from CS:S! Pretty much the same map but modified a bit for zombies. Worth playing but kinda gets old after a while.

This was a pretty cool campaign where each map had it's own theme. I thought it was kinda long and there was a map (maybe the 3rd one) that I don't think would be possible with expert. Worth a play through.

Very short campaign (only one map) but was pretty cool. I thought it was pretty well polished for a custom map. Recommended.
Remember: L4D is much more fun playing with friends than without. So try these out with other people for maximum fun.

BEASTMASTER RANGER
A deadly hunter, you specialize in double-teaming your enemies with the aid of a beast companion. Your beast is an extension of you, and thereby it is an invaluable member of your group. No other is needed to help you flank your quarry. Melee combat with the aid of your beast is your focus, so you favor Strength. You count on Dexterity for your AC and occasional ranged attacks, so your secondary focus is on that ability score. Wisdom, your tertiary ability score, makes you better at the Perception skill and gives you an edge with many ranger powers. The Beast Mastery class feature is designed to complement this build.

be sure and note that in the Survival league you have to have your pick in before the first game of the week starts which can be on Thursday or Saturday some weeks. In the Pick 'Em leagues if you forget to do your picks before the first game of the week starts you can still go in and make picks on any games that wont start in the next five minutes.

That being said, the new ads are bullshit. Moreover, nuking threads about the ads is even worse. geedeck asked me to direct my questions to staff instead of "randomly" posting about it here. When did discussing Shack policy become random, let alone nukable? The whole point of my question earlier was to see if anyone else here felt the same way. I don't want some mod's response repeating what GameFly's offical line. I want to see what posters think. Maybe I'm overreacting but I was one of the people that scoffed at the notion that Steve's sale of the Shack would change anything here. Maybe I was wrong.

I don't know anything about luggage. What is the best premium hardcore luggage. I need to get new stuff I broke my old stuff. I was thinking the victorinox cases since I like their logo. Also does anyone else think luggage is a really stupid word? It is because you "lug" it around, so it is luggage. I don't like the word suitcases either.
Who can recommend some really good personal cargo container brands??

Beyond my own good judgement I actually bought this over the weekend so that my brother and I could play through it via coop. After 4 hours, it became evident (as expected) that the game itself isn't very good, is very buggy, and odly laggy via local coop.
For those who have played it, is it worth it to keep going, does it get better?
I'm playing on 360 btw, which for me so far proves that a game such as this (Diablo 3 anyone?) can work perfectly on a console, but Sacred 2 itself just seems to suck.

So I got myself an XBox 360 for $230 in this deal: http://www.shacknews.com/laryn.x?id=20735285 . Since I've saved $70 over the Elite I was thinking of buying, recommend me your 2 favourite XBox 360 games. I've already bought Rockband 2. Crossover games that I've already played on PC are: Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, most Valve games, Street Fighter 4 (though I may re-buy this for X360).
Also, any accessories that I should buy? I don't need the wireless adapter, I'll just string Cat5 cable. Extra wireless gamepad obviously, anything else?

It's Metroid-vania in terms of exploration and power-ups but neither of those games have ever made me feel as empowered as when I walk into a room with 8-10 bad guys. Combine a few power-ups with a good gun and some grenades, plus great controls that allow fluid shooting and grenading while moving, and you can walk in, never break stride and lay an entire room to waste. In fact when you get proficient enough at the combat it starts to feel like DMC where your main obstacle in most rooms is not the combat.
