Bizarre power-ups including an ice-tossing penguin suit and a rather fetching propeller beanie are on display in a new trailer for Nintendo's New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

This is why I have a mild urge to stab a nintendo employee when I wake up in the morning. All they do is remake the same games over and over. I think the same virus that hit the prawns' ship is running wild at nintendo.

So is this a new mario or just a remake of NSMB with coop? If its new, this might be the game that pushes me over the edge on buying a Wii. Fucking nintendo, stop selling me the same shit for 20 years and making me like it! new 2d metroid pls

This is why I still have a fondness for Nintendo. They still believe in the purity and fun of local multiplayer, of being right there with your friends to enjoy a game. This game looks to be a blast, too. Loved NSMB, wished there was more. Boom, Ninty answers the call with the first 2D-gameplay Mario on one of their main consoles since the SNES. They may be lacking in "hardcore" games lately, but the slow trickle is justified by really amazing releases. I can't think of a single Nintendo-developed Wii title that caters to hardcore gamers which is not a spectacular game. Wii Sports/Play/Fit/Music don't count since those cater to casual.

i wonder how it works when all 4 players are on the screen and mario does a long jump sequence first or 3 of them go ahead and the 4th one is behind. do the 3 players jump in the pit because the screen won't scroll?
