Army of Two: The 40th Day Release Date, Pre-Order Bonus Announced

EA Montreal has today announced that its bro-tastic fist-bumping shooter sequel Army of Two: The 40th Day will be hitting Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PSP on January 12, 2010.

As an odd pre-order bonus, one of 40th Day's four multiplayer modes will be playable at launch only by those who slapped their cash down early. 'Extraction'--which EA explains "Pits a team of four players against a series of unique enemy waves as they move from point to point in the ruined city"--will become available to the hoi polloi after one month.

I love the way some PS3 exclusives :cough: mgs4 :cough: look pretty damn good at screenshots and then turn nothing like it in the real world.

These shots also look pretty neat... get it?

As Carmack says: you can always engineer a screenshot.

That sounds like the multiplayer isn't going to be quite ready, and pre-order people are signing up to beta/load test the MP.

Explaining away an unfinished game as a pre-order bonus is a new marketing strategy apparently.
