Prison Break Game Saved by Koch
by Chris Faylor, Aug 11, 2009 2:40pm PDTThough it wasn't looking good for the video game adaptation of Prison Break--the titular television show is no longer on the air and original publisher Brash went bankrupt--Koch Media today announced that it has signed on to publish the project.
In development for PC and unspecified "next gen consoles," the ZootFly-helmed game takes place during the show's first season, and puts players in control of an undercover agent with "diverse climbing and stealth skills."
Koch subsidiary Deep Silver will handle the publishing duties, though there was no indication as to when it will be released. A few more details on the game, pulled from today's press release, follow below.
The protagonist of the "Prison Break" game is Company agent Tom Paxton. He is sent to the Fox River State Penitentiary to find out why Michael Scofield (the hero of the TV series), a man without a previous criminal record, became a bank robber. The storyline runs parallel to the first season of "Prison Break": Paxton encounters several characters from the series and experiences key events from his own perspective. The action adventure "Prison Break" has all the markings of the award-winning TV series: a compelling story, distinct characters, and fast-paced action. Using diverse climbing and stealth skills, the protagonist Paxton explores numerous locations of the series, all brought to life with great attention to detail.
