Priced at $2.99 for a one-day launch offer, the iPhone and iPod Touch port of 3D Realms' 1996 shooter is handled by Prey Invasion developer Machineworks Northwest.

Two different ways to tip strippers and kick faces. Both slider and thumbstick control modes are on offer, though several reviews have been critical of the controls. 3D Realms' George Broussard notes that an update is in the works to improve them and "address some overlooked issues."

1. Apogee/3DR contract out Machineworks Northwest to port game to iPhone
2. Machineworks uses control scheme from other game.
3. Payment/scheduling doesn't really allow them much time to figure out a better control scheme.
4. Machineworks needs more time/money to nail down the controls
5. Apogee/3DR for whatever reason are too busy to communicate with them (GeorgeB3DR's twitter update and TouchArcade posts imply this)
6. Machineworks either works for free to fix it or they release it as-is. It's entirely reasonable that they're not in a position to work for free and it's also entirely possible that the control scheme, as it exists, was defined in the contract and would involve 3DR's involvement to fix
7. Machineworks releases it
8. Uproar ensues
9. 3DR gets involved
10. DNF is released
11. DN3D iPhone is fixed
