Rumor: Next World of Warcraft Expansion to Add Worgen, Goblin Races
by Nick Breckon, Aug 10, 2009 12:50pm PDTSeveral sources "close to the situation" have told WoW.com that the next World of Warcraft expansion will diversify the game's population with two new playable races.
The expansion--rumored to be dubbed "Cataclysm"--will add the Goblin race to the Horde side, with the Alliance gaining the werewolf-like Worgen race, according to the report.

Left, the diminutive Goblins. Right, the beastly Worgen.Blizzard has yet to announce a scrap of information related to the next World of Warcraft expansion. Any official word is likely to come at the company's BlizzCon convention, set to begin on August 21.
As a former Horde player, the prospect of facing an army of players affiliated with the Son of Arugal--that elite level 20 backstabbing son of a bitch--is certainly intimidating.

Goblin's can't be horde. Aren't they neutral? Does that mean the Goblin towns are going to become Horde towns? I guess that could actually be really cool. And Goblins make a great counter to gnomes...(but pet rocks would make a great counter to Gnomes.)
The Worgren on the Alliance side is much cooler. Before the last race expansion I was saying how the Alliance needed a good 'beast' race to counter the Tauren. This could do it.
Of course, I still prefer the ChiKong http://realm.ofthehawke.com/rpg/imitation/wow_chikong.html

So, maybe its not "plenty" but it doesnt really leave the realm of the lore. And as others have said, goblins are already split between factions. Its not a stretch to think a faction would back the horde (all the while not having any effect on current goblin towns).
