Dragon Age: Origins Officially Delayed

Following indications of a delay, BioWare has now confirmed that Dragon Age: Origins has been pushed out of October and is now slated to release in November.

"Dragon Age: Origins will be released on November 3rd in North America and November 6th in Europe on the Xbox 360 videogame entertainment system and PC," BioWare's Chris Priestly stated. "The PLAYSTATION 3 version will follow later in November."

No reason was given for the later PlayStation 3 release. Previously, all versions of the fantasy RPG were expected to hit simultaneously on October 20 in North America.

The studio denied the delay into November just yesterday, with BioWare then telling Shacknews that it was "still targeting an October 20 release date" and "if the release date changes, we'll issue a press release."

it's a big deal to have delays because games are in development for forever, hyped more than the segway and never hit their due date, and they don't know they are going to miss it until two weeks before it ships? Bullshit. Right now I'm so sick of all these poor developers not knowing what's going on and publishers pulling the wool over their eyes. again, bullshit. who isn't sick of it.

Great...now this game is coming out a week before Modern Warfare 2 - giving me hardly any time to play it before I am consumed by Call of Duty. Then after that, Left 4 Dead 2 a week later.

They had to delay the game to make sure the marketing message gets out about how it is so full of sex and sleaze that you'll catch VD just from looking at the game box on the shelf.

Not that long of a delay, the PS3 delay being longer is a tad odd though.
