Wii Sports Resort Sales Surpass 500,000

11
Nintendo has announced that over 500,000 units of Wii Sports Resort have been sold between its July 26 debut and August 5, a period of just 11 days. That equates to roughly 1.5 copies of the game sold per second, according to Nintendo, which has clearly done its Brain Age math tests.

Nintendo of America VP of sales Cammie Dunaway was naturally pleased with the impressive numbers, calling the performance a "great start."

Can someone tell me if the golf is still a canned animation? What I mean is for ex, in the old one, if you're putting, your in putting mode and can't whollop the ball if you want. I want true freedom of motion, if I want to take a huge swing at it with the putter let me, I don't like the feeling of being confined to a 'canned' animation. It's a total removal from the experience.

Granted the original wasn't up to the task but this one should be. Frisbee looks like it does this and so does swordfighting but does golf? I've watched a few reviews and they don't still go in depth enough about how the game mechanics have changed with the new controller.

Just go buy it. It rocks. I swear. Best thing since Wii Sports. The golf is better than before. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this question, but the putting does work better now. I am able to make small hits much easier. I don't ever feel the need to go max swing with the putter.

Anyhow, the bowling has even improved. The 100 pin bowling and trick mode games are now "real" games of bowling, complete with ranking points and being able to play it with regular bowling turns.

My favorite is the third sword mode. Best sword control I've ever seen.
