Morning Discussion

by Alice O'Connor, Aug 04, 2009 7:00am PDT

Rather than attempt to wring a pithy anecdote from my own cranial sponge this morning, how about we leave this one to an expert? The following complete short story is from Richard Brautigan's collection Revenge of the Lawn, and is titled 'The Scarlatti Tilt.'

'It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play the violin.' That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.
