The Sims 3 Expansion Adds Tomb Raiding

14
In a move which surprises no one, EA has today announced an expansion pack for The Sims 3. In addition to the Egyptian locale shown below, The Sims 3 World Adventures will allow virtual voyages to fictional Sim cities in France and China for holiday hijinks.

EA promises activities including searching for hidden treasure, learning new skills such as martial arts, and to take souvenir hunting to bizarre and possibly illegal new levels as you meet "Sims with unique personalities, share their culture and bring them home."

The Sims 3: World Adventures will arrive on PC and Mac the week of November 16. To entice players to buy new expansion-exclusive DLC, it'll come with 1,000 SimPoints.

I was kinda hoping they'd release all the content that the vanilla game was missing and should have had in the first place before making bizarre expansion packs. Oh well, no surprise.

Those are probably design decisions made early on in order to streamline the game, not just a way to add them on later.

But they don't even have the same level of item variety that Sims 1 had in the vanilla game. Also considering all the item sets they sell, it's pretty clear that they shortchanged the game on items so they could sell more stuff later on.

it may not have the same item variety, but TS3 has far more gameplay variety. And that's what makes it so much better than the first two.

At least they've included some stuff from each expansion of The Sims 2 into vanilla Sims 3. That's more than I thought they'd even do.

It's honestly a surprise they included so much stuff as it was, seeing they could and are selling insanely overpriced Sims "sets".
