Halo 3: ODST is scheduled for an Xbox 360 release on September 22, and will include access to the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta--whatever that is.

I'm buying this because I'm addicted to Halo MP but I have to admit this looks pretty boring and uninspired. I'm curious what changes are being made to MP.

      Really??

This looks alot more inspired than Halo 3 was. These ODSTs seem to be more interesting than any other character in Halo 3.

Oh and there are no changes to the MP in ODST; its been said numerous time

The potential for amazing characters here sheds a positive light on it where I couldn't have cared less before. Not saying Im buying. The writing and the pacing could completely negate the voicework though. We'll see. Its very interesting though.

No changes are being made to MP whatsoever; it's simply shipping with a "mythic" disc that allows you to play standard H3 multiplayer with all the DLC.

This is why im trying to convince my friend that odst is a good buy for him, as he doesnt have a copy of halo 3 or any of the map packs. So he gets odst sp campaign, 4 player firefight, and halo 3 mp.

Is there not gonna be 3 all new maps, and new weapons? or a survival/waves mode?

The firefight mode is new, but it's co-op, not adversarial multiplayer.

The new maps and weapons are going to be available outside of the game for those that just own Halo 3 though I thought.

Really? That sucks. I think I'm going to pass then, or at least try to pass on it.

I've got no interest in the single player and very little in Firefight, and I am a coop addict. It just looks like a reskinned Halo 3. You may not be able to dual wield but ODSTs are still picking up Covie turrets, jumping around, wielding grav hammers, etc. The only reason I need this is for the bundled multiplayer maps.

You are a coop addict and you are not interested in the game for the coop? Last time I checked it featured 4-player open world coop. If that's not awesome then I don't know what is.

Open world? The coop mode is like Gears of War 2's Horde mode except ODST calls it Firefight mode. It's not like Halo 3's coop campaign. And the major downer to me is that the ODST's don't play all that different than the Spartans.

He was talking about the co-op of the campaign in ODST; Halo ODST still has 4 player co-op just like Halo 3
