Beneath a Steel Sky Headed to iPhone
by Alice O'Connor, Jul 30, 2009 11:09am PDTRevolution Software's classic PC adventure game Beneath a Steel Sky is coming to the iPhone this fall, from a new division focused on digitally-distributed handheld gaming.
"The adventure genre is undergoing a renaissance" said Revolution founder Charles Cecil in a statement. "Digital distribution has changed the game for developers... By tackling development and publishing duties ourselves, we can strengthen our relationship with [our fans] and retain complete commercial and creative freedom."
Beneath A Steel Sky - Remastered is revamped with animated movies by Watchmen co-creator Dave Gibbons, a context-sensitive help system, and higher quality audio.
More titles from the Revolution library--which includes the Broken Sword series--and original games will follow on more platforms including Android, PSP Go, and DSi Shop.

I thought it was already released as freeware though? How can they get away with charging to port it to the iphone? It runs on scummvm doesn't it - I already used the nintendo DS port of scummvm to run it on my handheld, so surely it'll just run with an iphone port of scummvm (I'm sure there is one)...
Seems a bit cheeky somehow, but it's good that this game will be getting some recognition again.
Both have also been released for free via the ScummVM guys: http://www.scummvm.org/downloads/
