LoGD (Legend of the Green Dragon) and iPhone (wo)menz (ER repost):

Maarten and I would like to announce our project from last weekend...

Since the LoGD pages are too wide for the iPhone and require much zooming around for comfortable dragon slaying on the go (and also because we were hurting to mess around with iPhone development), we decided to create an app to remedy that.

The beauty is that no modifications are necessary server-side, so it should be compatible with any of the customized LoGD version on any server using any language.

We parse the HTML pages and rip out the central view to display it. We moved the navigation actions into an action picker (the "wheel" you see when selecting a drop-down-menu option on a webpage) and bring up a view with your stats on request.

We would love to have this app in the Apple App Store by Quakecon, which probably means that we need to submit it by the end of the week and hope it does not get rejected. We need your help testing the app. Requirements for participation are that you have an account on www.shackbbs.com (rather that you are actually an active player there) and that you own an iPhone/iPod touch.

To participate please reply to this post with your device type/make and ShackBBS LoGD nickname. We will select 3-5 people (probably at least one iPod touch, one iPhone 2G and one iPhone 3G owner each ) and notify them via shackmsg with further instructions.
