While there's yet to be any sort of confirmation that Ashes Cricket 2009 will be released in North America, Xbox 360 owners in the region can now download a demo of it.

At present, the demo is only available to those that have paid for or redeemed an Xbox Live Gold membership, with Silver members able to snag it next Friday, July 30.

Developed by Transmission Games, Ashes Cricket 2009 is said to be "the most authentic cricket experience possible without having to don your whites." The full version heads off to European retailers August 7 in PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii form.

  • i just tried it and normal difficulty is just ridiculous, you will get nicked every ball and get hit for four or a six when bowling. In easy it was comparatively better. However, it does not seem finished. Presentation wise its okay, graphics are alright and animation is not too bad. However, the AI needs serious work.

The batsman from the opposing team hit such ridiculous shots (front foot straight slog on a short pitch delivery) that it shatters realism.

I was expecting more from codemasters as usually their efforts are better than EA. With the game releasing in just a few days, and if the demo is any indication, its a pass for me.
