Need for Speed Nitro Shifts to Retail November 17
by Chris Faylor, Jul 22, 2009 10:00am PDTElectronic Arts today announced that Need for Speed Nitro (Wii, DS) will ship off to retailers worldwide on November 17, giving racing fans a bit of time to recover after the September 22 release of Need for Speed Shift on PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and PSP.
Whereas Slightly Mad's Shift is more of a realistic racer, EA Montreal's Nitro focuses more on arcade-style racing. The Wii edition utilizes a variety of control devices, including Wii Remote, Nunchuk, racing wheel, classic controller and GameCube controller.
"We wanted to fuse together attitude with car culture and the best of arcade racing, to create a new and unique racing experience," said senior producer Joe Booth, citing the "varied track designs, deep controls, and intuitive drift and nitro mechanics."
