Battlefield 1943 Finally Arrives at Coral Sea on PS3

16
Battlefield 1943's dogfighting map 'Coral Sea' has been unlocked for PlayStation 3 players, triggered on Saturday evening by reaching the milestone of 43 million total kills.

The map was the subject of a community challenge which saw Xbox 360 and PS3 players shelling, bombing and shooting their way to the trigger figure. Xbox 360 troops managed to hit their target first, on July 14--a mere four days after the challenge began.

Imo, the PS3'ers haven't missed a thing. Its a pretty awful map.

The rest of bf1943's maps are awesome but this one is claustrophobic, too compact and too chaotic. I dislike how you can't land or jump on any of the islands like you used to in 1942 :(

I hope they bring more old maps back tho, such as El Alamein and Bocage! I'd gladly pay for more of 'em

Yea the map is garbage, air combat is boring in the game (nothing like Warhawk for example which is awesome). After 2 rounds i quit and went back to the normal mode.

Adding El Alamein would be amazing :-)

Lol, warhawk is for people who can't fly. People just suck at flying in 1943 and bitch about it on forums after they plant their plane in a rock for the 10th time.

Why don't they just remaster '42 in total using the '43 engine. I hope that is in the works.

        I'm expecting $2.99 - $4.99 per additional map.

I bet they fuck it up completely and charge $15 for 3 more maps. This is EA/DICE we're talking about. They'll find a way to make this a disaster yet.

I'd have no problem paying $15 for 3 more maps.

I'd pay $10 for 3 more maps, but $15 is pushing it.

then you're not so bright. because all the features are being stripped to supposedly accommodate a low price, so then you get a BF that's full price but minimum extras and features? awesome.

Not so bright? I'm sorry I enjoy fun games. I don't miss calling for medics that never come by, chasing ammo guys that never give me ammo, and not being able to drive 5 ft in a vehicle because of mine spamming.

I do like quick action, nice responsive lanes, destructable terrain, and lag free servers without having to worry about who's running wallhacks or exploits.

If that's stupid then sign me up for Special Ed.

Okay except they released a map pack and game mode for Battlefield Bad Company and didn't charge a dime for it and it's still my favorite FPS of this generation.
