MadWorld developer Platinum Games' new over-the-top action title Bayonetta won't make it out this year as planned, Sega announced today.

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title has been delayed to January 2010, though the Japanese version will still be released in October. "Bayonetta is an extremely important new IP for SEGA and adds a new level of depth to our growing portfolio," said Sega West president Mike Hayes. "As a result of market analysis we have taken a Publishing decision that January 2010 is the optimum release time in the Western Markets to maximize this exciting new title's potential."

While I do agree that MW2 probably wont have a huge impact on Bayonetta sales... I will say that being a fan of both genres, if it came out on the same week I'd probably get MW2 first.
