Braid Creator Making 3D 'Puzzle-Exploration Game'
by Alice O'Connor, Jul 17, 2009 9:36am PDTJonathan Blow, designer of acclaimed puzzle-platformer Braid, has revealed through job postings that he's entering development of a new 3D "puzzle-exploration game."
Blow describes the project as "a puzzle-exploration game that is philosophical, and quiet, and is being made for reasons other than crass profit motive." Bless his socks.
While there are few details on what the new game will be, Blow's job posting for a 3D environment concept artist gives a fair indication of what won't be involved:
The majority of [your] portfolio should consist of things absent from the following list: Girls With Big Tits; Barbarians Wielding Axes, Covered in Blood; Aliens; Space Ships; Gangsters Getting Shot in the Face; Orcs; Giant Robots; and, of course, Postapocalyptic Wastelands.

Honestly, I never really sympathised with the JOHN BLOW IS A PRETENTIOUS JACKASS reputation he seems to have, but that's just silly. Who cares? Why even say this? What a pretentious jackass.
Pretty sure that job listing his at least partly in jest, though.

I guess you know where his pretentious reputation comes from - people who haven't thought it through, like you.
Honestly how you misinterpreted that is beyond me.
