EA Sports has announced that the annual instalment of its Madden NFL series has gone gold, and given the dates for its two tiers of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 demos.

Available July 30 on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, Madden NFL 10's public demo will offer a Giants vs. Cowboys game in 1-minute quarters. The GameStop pre-order exclusive demo with 5-minute quarters will be available one week earlier, from July 23.

Madden NFL10 is released August 14 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2, Wii and PSP.

1 minute quarters? They might as well not even put a demo out. I hate Gamestop, soooooooooo bad. They, and they alone are the reason for the bullshit price increase in games.

With the new additions, maybe there will be more going on between quarters? A way to show it off?

I would have guessed inflation over the past 15 years might have played a part.

Get out of this thread. Its quite clear saunders45 knows everything without doing research or knowing anything about economics.

It doesn't take rocket science. The $10 Next gen tax is bullshit.

Gamestop sells used games. With people buying used games, publishers are making less money. How do they correct this? By charging more.

Then on top of it, game demo's are no longer used to advertise and show off a product. You have to pre-order (give gamestop your money early to earn interest on, just so you can buy from them) just to try a real demo.

Shit, NCAA10 had 2 minute quarters and that was incredibly rough to get anything done.

better than last year when the entire demo was a 2 minute drill. God forbid I want to see the running game...

One play per quarter, or maybe 2?
