Remedy 'Would Love to See' Alan Wake on PC, Microsoft Making the Call

102

With the long-promised PC edition of its "psychological action thriller" Alan Wake now "up in the air," developer Remedy has issued a formal statement to several sites, including BrightFalls and Digital Spy, that puts the fate of a PC release in Microsoft's hands:

It is accurate that we are currently working exclusively on the Xbox360 version of Alan Wake. PC plans are currently open, and therefore it's safe to say that at least a simultaneous launch with the Xbox version will not happen at this late stage. Remedy has a deep heritage in PC gaming and would love to see a PC version available to its PC followers, ultimately however this decision lies with our publisher.

Initially announced for PC and "next generation consoles" in 2005, Alan Wake was confirmed for Xbox 360 and PC when Microsoft signed on to publish in 2006, with the Xbox 360 edition now slated for "spring 2010." The now-uncertain fate of the PC release has caused quite a stir, especially considering the Max Payne creator's past positioning of Alan Wake as a flagship title for PC technology from Microsoft and Intel.

PC Gaming Alliance and Games for Windows...who did Microsoft think they were going to fool? A-holes.

Thank God DNF is dead or else pc gamers would've been agonizing over this same crap - DNF as a console exclusive. I'd rather it die than be forced to play DNF on a gamepad.

Capcom owns my face! Now they just need to bring Resident Evil 5 and Mega Man 9 over too.
