Morning Squidussion

By Alice O'Connor, Jul 14, 2009 6:50am PDT There's a special chipper energy floating around the Shacknews virtual office this morning, the kind of energy that can only be channelled through cephalopods.

Squid and octopodes are of course the stars of the class, and even cuttlefish get a little screen time, but the poor nautilus is all too often forgotten. Few believe she was in that graduating class all those millions of years ago as her classmates have changed so much since then, but she was there alright. Secured tight inside a beautiful shell, with cold uncaring eyes and dozens of tentacles, she's my kind of cephalopod.

  • Man, I'm excited. I just ordered a bike from a guy in my hometown that created all the trails I rode on as a kid. Was somewhat surreal to mention the names of the places we used to ride and for him to know exactly where each one was and what they were like. Small town so we knew a lot of the same people, and I remember his name as one of the older kids who rode. Crazy. More than happy to drive back up there to support the guy. He beat everyone here in Indy by a decent margin too.

So in a day or so I'll be the proud owner of a 2009 Redline Monocog 29er!
