id Ramps Up Rage Marketing as QuakeCon Nears
by Chris Faylor, Jul 13, 2009 9:18am PDTIt's been a while since we've heard anything new regarding id's post-apocalyptic shooter Rage, but recent events and some new media (below) suggest that's about to change.
With the developer's annual QuakeCon event exactly one month away, the studio has launched a new teaser site and created a dedicated Twitter account for Rage, with "plenty of gameplay details" promised in the August 2009 issue of Game Informer.
id has long maintained that Rage will only be released "when it's fun and when it's done," which will definitely not be in 2009. In the past, project lead Tim Willits has suggested that the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Mac title would arrive by 2010 at the latest.
Though the exact details of what will be shown at QuakeCon remain uncertain, "exclusive looks at id Software's own anticipated games Wolfenstein and RAGE" are promised. In the wake of id's recent acquisition by Bethesda owner ZeniMax, Rage will still be published by EA Partners, with Bethesda publishing future id games, such as Doom 4.

It has dawned on me that this title might change a vast horizon on how idsoftware creates games..
id software created the quick paced deathmatch, free for all that is always for a quick stepped audience..
but with fallout 3 team zenimax/Bethesda softworks opens a world of game play routine for both teams..

Rage is suppose to be a open world, scavenging, kill everything in sight, video game.. Which seems to me it might be like that title Borderlands, a Co-op strategic game play that you play the entire team with a friend...
So is idsoftware actually going to make a massive multiplayer online game? There isn't much detail that really fits into that being the general stance of what Rage is to looks like or be.. Either way idsoftware has had great feats made with its deathmatch gun battle.. and bethsoft's fallout3 is a world of its own.. I really cant wait till i see this game come out..
Looks rather plain.

Can some Flash genius parse the heck out of that SWF and find some hidden goodies?.. The code in the action script is beyond me. All I was able to find was the RageMain.swf and some of the assets in the included debugger.

I really hope this comes out as awesome as the (few, tiny) details they've shown so far.
