LucasArts today announced that its update of the classic adventure game The Secret of Monkey Island will be priced at 800 Microsoft Points, or $10 on Steam. The "Special Edition" of the first Monkey Island game will feature redrawn graphics, new voice acting and a re-mastered score. Users will have the option of turning off the new graphics look in favor of the original art style.

The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition will launch next Wednesday, July 15, on Xbox Live Arcade and PC.

Have you read the secret forum for pre-orders at Telltale? Dominic Armato was there answering questions. He sounds like a hilariously funny guy who is a genuine fan of the games too. I can't wait to see what he's done in this game and in the upcoming episodes. :D

Did you finish ep 1 yet? What are your thoughts?

I posted some the day it was released, basically I thought it was great for what it was. I mean it's not perfect, but very entertaining. If you like Telltale's adventures you'll love it. Some of the puzzles were a little too easy and spelled out for you, but at least it wasn't frustrating.

Art style, music and voice acting all top notch. Dominic Armato sounds like he never stopped acting as Guybrush. The game seemed closer to MI3 than that god awful MI4 so that's also a plus.

Can't wait to see Ep 2.
