Final MAG Diary Breaks Down Command Structure

Zipper's 256-player multiplayer shooter MAG sounds like a recipe for chaos, but the developer is stressing that the eight-man squads and overall command system will provide a level of manageable cohesion.

MAG hits the PlayStation 3 this fall.

I'm looking forward to this title. Seems like a cross between BF2 and Resistance 2 multiplayer.

I'm talking more about the way you are put in a squad and pitted against a rival squad in Resistance 2 multiplayer, along with other incentives to stay in your group and try to achieve the objectives.
        MAG seems more structured though.

It looks like a lot like BF2 with more players and that is something I've been frothing at the mouth for. BF2 was awesome (probably my favorite with UT2004 right behind) but I wanted servers with even larger battlefields. I am no fan of Sony and I despise PS3 supporters the most out of all platform fanboys but 256 players, chain of command, character customization, and maps with multiple objectives. The curiosity is killing me. I am seriously considering a PS3 for MAG alone if there is a PS3 price cut this fall. I NEVER thought I would say that so lesson learned. Fancy hardware specs and novelty features like BluRay make for nice window dressing but it really is all about the games when it comes to getting people to buy your platform.

Wow, lots of Sony hate emanating from your post. From what does it stem?
I am a Sony supporter, but I am no fanboy. What I am a fan of, however, is great games.
With Nintendo practically abandoning core gamers and Microsoft selling off at least half of their dev studios, Sony is back on top as the best 1st party game developer. When that price drop hits, it will be a great time to get a PS3 (and you get a high quality blu-ray player as a bonus).
If only they would vastly improve their online gaming network, I would play more games on the PS3.
