A sequel to the film adaptation of Hitman is in production, according to a new report by movie site IESB.

Writer Kyle Ward, also attached to the Kane & Lynch adaptation, is handling the script for Hitman 2. Producers Adrian Askarieh, Daniel Alter and Chuck Gordon will return.

The original Hitman was released in 2007, with Deadwood veteran Timothy Olyphant in the starring role. Despite dismal reviews, the film eventually raked in $99.9 million at the box office.

I actually really enjoyed this movie. It was far from spectacular, but it was fun. Would be cool if Olyphant returned, he seemed to fit the role really well.

It was bad the first time. It was bad the 2nd time. Then I got the unrated version in my White Elephant. I have not watched it a 3rd time.
