Dawn of War 2 Battle Report Highlights Update Changes

Relic has released a lengthy new video showing off the many changes coming to Dawn of War II in the upcoming "There is Only War" update.

Outer Reaches, a new map included in the Dawn of War II 'There is Only War' update.

The video, done in the style of Blizzard's StarCraft II battle reports, features Relic balancers Colin Hamilton and Braden Chan duking it out in a Tyranid/Eldar match on the new Outer Reaches map. Dawn of War II lead designer Jonny Ebbert and balance designer Clint Tasker narrate.

So they added base building, double the units, better unit management, improved AI, and tons of custom animations and themed voice overs in this next major update?

If not, I'm still not interested and I will continue on playing DoW as it has all of the above.

So I played the MP demo a while back and was confused on what I was doing. I just went back to DoW2 with the Steam SP demo and I like it (this coming from a guy who is ready to throw Company of Heroes out the fucking window). Is this game worth $40? Are peeps playing it? Obviously Relic is supporting the hell out of it.

It's a great game but the balance hasnt been so good since release. It's not terrible but imo it just lost the real intense fun value that the early beta seemed to totally nail. THis new 1.4 looks amazing and should really revitalise the game. Totally reccomend checking it out if you havent bought a copy.

Sounds like they're making the game more hardcore and competitive by removing a lot of the free "get out of jail free"-stuff the game had.
