Morning Squidussion
by Alice O'Connor, Jun 23, 2009 7:00am PDTEveryone welcome Nick back from his unusually busy vacation. The poor soul just wanted some rest and relaxation, but no matter where he went--the Orient express, an English manor house, New York, a sleepy Maine fishing village--murders and mysteries were abound. He ended up spending his time dashing around questioning suspects and searching for clues rather than burning to a crisp and wearing straw hats daubed with amusing slogans as he should have been. Bless his little white cotton socks.

Found out why the action scenes worked well and looked so good but the movie overall sucked, "In addition, Gibson served as second unit director on the film, responsible for many of the more CG-heavy action sequences, while McG focused more on scenes involving the actors." It all makes sense now! I was wondering how all the fx scenes could feel so real, and conversely be fairly well filmed, while the rest was boring shit. While MCG should definitely commit 切腹 (seppeku) it seems the guys at ILM are fairly creative, at least in terms of direction. If I recall right they also did a lot of director like stuff for Iron Man, so I've got give them a hand on their movie making. Now if only they could have taken over for George Lucas : (
