Fatal Fury Wolves and Droplitz Hit XBLA Wednesday

SNK's 2D fighter Fatal Fury: Garou - Mark Of The Wolves and Blitz Arcade's aquatic puzzler Droplitz will hit the Xbox 360 this Wednesday, June 24, Microsoft has revealed.

Enhanced over its earlier Dreamcast, PlayStation 2 and arcade releases, Garou - Mark Of The Wolves now sports online multiplayer for two combatants. Meanwhile, Droplitz is a single-player affair focused on routing an unspecified liquid to the bottom of the screen.

Both of the downloadable games will sell for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

Garou is one of the deepest, best looking, most balanced fighting games ever made. It holds up as excellently at tournament level as in casual play, and is one of my favourite games of all time. I first played it around 2000 and it still hasn't gotten old.

If this port does the Neo Geo version justice I thoroughly recommend it as an essential for anyone who is a fan of the competitive fighting genre, and an excellent introduction for anyone who isn't.

SNK has an amazing library of games they could release through on 360 and PS3. I'd love to see Blazing Star and Last Blade given the same treatment, both are great games.

Mark of the Wolves was a damned good fighter. Came very close to the quality of 3rd Strike, which is to say it's one of the best.

Droplitz was pretty cool at E3 even though they got no attention. Hopefully they'll have a demo to get some eyeballs.
