Dark Void Developer Diary: Jetpack Joy

6
Airtight Games' latest Dark Void developer diary explains that its jetpack is delightfully not your usual smooth, clinical, boring video game jetpack, rather "It feels like you've just strapped a 30lb rocket to your back, and when you hit the 'go' button there's that moment of chaos where your arms and legs are flailing and you- you take off." Marvellous.

Publisher Capcom has yet to announce a release date for Dark Void, which is being developed for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

It actually looks great, just hope the PC release is stable.

I like the idea of being able to upgrade the jetpack and steal technology. It should hopefully mean a good progression for the game and the story.

I have played this game twice, and it is alot of fun. Especially going from cover shooter to flying around and then hijacking an enemy flying machine. They really cleaned it up from E3 2008 to E3 2009.
The jetpack reminds me of the one in the movie, The Rocketeer, in that it's so powerful that it's out of control for the first few seconds of flight.
