A variety of mystical creatures ready themselves for fantasy football action in the below trailer, as developer Cynanide prepares to release the board game-inspired Blood Bowl.

Sporting both turn-based and real-time play, Blood Bowl hits PC via digital distribution June 26, with DS and PSP editions due "soon" and an Xbox 360 release in September.

Quick comment - High praise to Cyanide for offering BOTH turn-based AND real-time play. That's awesome. I think a bunch of folks would have loved it if Relic offered that in Dawn of War. Such a great opportunity wasted. :(

Looking forward to purchasing this - the news about the turn-based play sealed the deal. This will be getting bought. Thanks, Cyanide. :)

I played a couple of games in the beta and thought it was alright, but I've never played the boardgame so didn't understand half of what was going on. A couple of co-workers who have played the boardgame looked over my shoulder for the second game, and said it was faithfully following the rules.

Visually, and UI-wise, it looked low-budget, but good enough for Steam or XBLA.

I've been really looking forward to this, but they really need to send out some gameplay videos. Also is there going to be any retail release or a release on Steam/Impulse/etc? I've had some crappy experiences using some of the lesser known digital distribution services in regards to restrictions about number of times it can be downloaded, how long it can be downloaded, and so on.
