A new trailer for Gaijin Entertainment's Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 flight sim IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey dishes up a dose of World War II dogfights and dive bombing.

On offer are over fifty missions in various roles throughout the war with difficulty levels ranging from arcade to simulation, as well as multiplayer with customisable planes.

PSP and DS versions are also under development by DYNAMICSYSTEMS and DiP Interactive respectively. All are planned for release some time this year.

This game will be absolutely nothing like Crimson Skies.

Hope? They've already said that the flight mechanics are IDENTICAL to those in the original IL-2.

Either they were lying out of their teeth or it will be just as realistic as the original IL-2.

People need to stop being so cynical and skeptical of any game that gets a console port, they always seem to assume that it will be "t3h haloized" for the 14 year old crowd.

I think people have been "burned" in the past multiple times due to games that get console ports. And its not so much halo, but rather more like Deus Ex 2. Where something that was good on PC, then went to console and made people upset because the PC version suffered as well.

But I more or less agree with the spirit of your post, I too wish people were a bit more constructive with their negative emotions and opinions.
