Dear atari, i realise you are an abortion of a company, and as a result do stupid things and make very little money. I also understand you sold the PAL publishing rights to Sony for Ghostbusters.

However my PC is not PAL region coded and as such, busting would make me feel good. Why is this title region locked on Steam? Please rectify this or put it on impulse who don't care for such trivialities such as where in the world i live.

Also if you try to charge me any more than the $30USD RRP you can eat a bag of dicks.

Okay, Shack, time for an old-tech question:

I picked up a 25-year-old Panasonic TV at a garage sale this weekend. These are the inputs it has:

The coax cable leading out of "VHF 75Ω" was hacked off long ago, leaving me with the screw-terminals as my only inputs. To those, I've attached a matching transformer that ends in a coax connector, which is then cabled to the antenna-out on my VCR (and its built-in RF modulator). The VCR, when powered up, is supposed to display a solid blue screen and the number of the channel to which it's currently set. This was tested on another TV.

The switch under the VCR's antenna-out is set to channel 3. The TV has these channel selector buttons:

I've selected channel 3, and set it to use low-band VHF in the tuning panel. The problem: no matter how much I twirl the tuning control knob, I can't pick up the VCR's signal. Just static. The tuner itself doesn't seem to be broken - when I disconnect the matching transformer, I'm able to receive over the VHF band (a Christian broadcast, and some sort of service station that loops instructions on how to get set up for digital (haha!)).

Any ideas on what I might be missing? Should I care about that "FOR 300Ω INSERT VHF PLUG" bit next to the inputs?

ATTN PS3 FAGS

So, Ratchet & Clank and GT5: Prologue were just added to the Greatest Hits lineup. Well, fuck paying $30. How does $15 for R&C and $10 for GT5:P sound?

Apparently Target B&M stores recently restocked these two titles, but they forgot to update the pricing so they're still selling for their previous "clearance" prices ($15 for Rachet, $10 for Prologue). Thanks cheapassgamer.com!

I picked up R&C at the Target in Chino Hills, CA earlier tonight (already have GT5:P). They still had about 3 or 4 copies of each at closing time.

Fuck you, freelancing. I go like 5 weeks working only 1 or 2 days, and then I finally book 3 days at full rate. Yay.

But then I get an email about shooting some behind the scenes stuff for some big time photographer who's flying in from New York for a big corporate sports shoot, and naturally that shoot takes place on the same 3 days.

What the fuck? No work for over a month and then enough work to pay for that whole involuntary vacation, but scheduled so that I can only do half of it.

Man, it would be so cool to see how he works and shit, and what a valuable contact as well. Goddamnit.

I loathe and detest paypal and ebay with all my being, those companies are vile, purely and utterly vile, they continue to bend and twist rules in order to maximise profit to the N'th fucking degree.

I originally could pay for items, using paypal and it would charge on my credit card.
Then one day, I added my normal savings account to my paypal account - BAM the default is always withdraw money from savings - except that costs us bank fees over here.
EVERY transaction you have to manually click "change funding option" and choose credit card.

Now, mysteriously I can't choose the card which was originally linked at all, these people are absoloute whores - why don't they want to take money from a credit card? is it because customers charge back when they fuck up ?

my friend is one of the scientists working on the fusion reactor and he pretty much agrees with this article.

Without massive advances in materials science, the reactor just wont work and its fairly pointless to start building it now.
In fact, he's pretty depressed because he reckons by the time fusion gets going in any fashion, solar power will be so efficient that no one will bother with fusion.
