Weekend Deals: Steam MMOs, Call of Juarez Bonus

This weekend has failed to produce a single must-have gaming deal, but there are a number of potentially attractive mark-downs depending on your taste.

Steam has reduced the price of a large portion of its MMO catalog for a full week. EVE Online and Age of Conan have both been marked down 50%, while the Guild Wars trilogy can be had for 20% off.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

GamersGate is running deals on 1C-published games such as Cryostasis, Men of War and NecroVision. From what I've heard, Men of War in particular might be worth the $12 exploratory fee.

Finally, Direct2Drive is offering the original Call of Juarez as a preorder bonus for Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood.

Is EVE Apocrypha worth it?

The only MMO I've been able to get into is Guild Wars and that was just a pseudo MMO, but EVE has always had me intrigued. The graphics look awesome and I like that it's completely open-ended. I've heard about the learning curve and it kinda worries me, but I've downloaded the trial and the tutorials seem to be doing a pretty good job. Any long-time EVE players here with n00b tips?

Well, I picked up Men of War and got this message after I paid.

Message: Due to shortage of serials you can't play the game right now. New serials is on its way.

I wish they would put this on the page before you buy it, so just be aware you will probably get the same.

Guild Wars is fantastic, but a bit past it's prime. I own all 3 campaigns + the expansion, well worth the money for the time I've gotten out of it.

I posted on their little help area, which appears to be players to players and got a few messages that it has happened to folks before. They said it usually gets straightened out fairly quickly, next Tuesday, etc...

With that said, I agree, it's hardly a way to make me want to buy again in the future. Can you imagine how pissed you would be if you went to a store and the game and key weren't in there and they gave you the same line? :)

With that said, it's 12 bucks.. I'm not gonna sweat it if it takes a few days.

GamersGate is also doing Sword of the Stars Ultimate Collection for 8 dollars/euros-- http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-SOTSU/sword-of-the-stars-ultimate-collection .. and "might be worth the $12 exploratory fee" ? Holy shit, try playing some PC games. Men of War is must-have and nuts at that price, this and King's Bounty The Legend are your motherfucking must-have gaming deals. Cryostasis and NecroVisioN are great deals. 7.62, the A.I.M. games, Death to Spies, Death Track Resurrection, Fantasy Wars, Streets of Moscow, The Tomorrow War, UFO Trilogy and XIII Century Death or Glory are other really good titles. Need more 1C love. You can't pretend to be a PC gamer and not at least check out the demos for these games where this is an option.

Hmm Age of Conan, i remember that game a "wow" beater they said, well at least the graphics did and erm...

A Real shame the only non-sub based game is guild wars, ive never tried it and erm will never now.
