Dante's Inferno Video Diary Introduces Limbo, Explains 'It's All Downhill From There'
by Alice O'Connor, Jun 12, 2009 9:51am PDTKicking off a series of Dante's Inferno developer diaries, Visceral Games introduces Dante Alighieri's renowned epic poem and its vision of Hell's first circle, Limbo.
"I read the poem and thought right away like, 'that's a video game,'" enthuses one assistant producer. "Of course, each piece we sort of interpret a little bit differently," warns another, explaining why Dante is a scythe-wielding "over-the-top action hero."
Dante's Inferno bids you "Go to Hell" on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PSP next year.

If their tech guys are even half as good as those at Sony Santa-Monica working on the God of War games this will probably be something special. Fingers crossed.
...also, fingers crossed they don't think QTEs are one of God of War's best assets.
For feck's sake, give me a game with some depth. The circles of hell and all the possible torments and sins contained therein should be explored with introspection and reflection, not a big guy with a scythe going, "Gluttonous sinner, chew on this! Lust-filled sinner, suck my blade! Violent sinner, explode into gibs!"
Christ. Where will it end?

As an aside, I find it curious that this title looks way more "hellish" than Diablo 3, especially considering this is from EA :X
