Perfect Dark XBLA Gets Online Multi, Screenshots

The first screenshots from the downloadable Xbox Live Arcade rendition of Rare's Pefect Dark have arrived, showing off the sharper visuals of the Nintendo 64 port.

Due this winter, the Xbox 360 release of the 2000 first-person shooter adds online multiplayer, enhanced graphics, and a smooth frame rate of 60 FPS to the mix--according to its Xbox.com games page, anyways. The port is being handled by 4J Studios, which worked with Rare on the Banjo Kazooie N64-to-XBLA releases.

Hoooly crap, my favorite shooter since Doom!!

I beg one thing of the dev team: Include everything, right down to the control customization options. To this day, I can't understand why more shooters don't let you map the face buttons (A,B,X,Y in this case) to walk and strafe, letting me aim with the left stick. All these years and i still can't stand the retarded feeling of aiming with the right stick in games like halo, even with halos other control option you have to walk with the right stick which still feels unresponsive.

and one other plea: hopefully they allow totally customized games over live, with all the options from the n64 ported over, near limitless gametypes!

Why do they keep coming out with these dumb remakes? Like I wanna play a 10 year old crappy N64 FPS online with all the insane looking shooters coming out this winter (Bad Company 2, MW2, Halo ODST, MAG, etc)

The only thing I remember disliking about Perfect Dark was the framerate, it really chugged, especially when running the "enhanced mode" with the memory expansion pack for the N64. 60 FPS is hawt.

YES!!!!!!! This game is so goooood!!! The only problem this game had on the N64 is a bad frame rate. So this is a huge release. If I didn't already own a X360 I would buy one for this game alone! :) Now all we need is Goldeneye XBLA!! Microsoft kicking some major A$$!!
