New Wii Zelda Concept Art Revealed

Photographs were forbidden when Zelda series creator Shigeru Miyamoto teased a new Wii Zelda game this week at E3 by showing a single piece of concept art at a roundtable session, leaving all not present relying on second-hand impressions.

That is, until Nintendo kindly released the concept artwork for all and sundry to enjoy. We, being sundry, may now enjoy the first look at what might await us in the next installment of Zelda.

"I love action games, and bring in archery and swordplay, that's great for me," said Miyamoto, adding that it could require the sensitivity-boosting Wii MotionPlus add-on, "But some people love [Zelda] as an RPG, and like the simpler controls, so that's something I really have to think about."

Miyamoto expressed a wish to show the game at E3 in 2010.

    What we know:

    - That female character standing in front of Link resembles the legendary Master Sword

    - Link has his back turned to the camera

This would indicate that the sword plays a large role in this one, large enough to be its own character. Players will be viewing the action through Link's transparent back a lot as they fight with the sword using the Motion Plus, Wii Sports Resort style.

    Yay!

Um are you really trying to figure out what this game is about from a concept drawing?

No. He's got a good point. At least about the female resembling a sword. Very interesting...

Well first note how Link isn't holding a sword, and then look at her and compare with Link's sword here: http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/2792/gcnzeldatwilightchar01on0.jpg You can definitely see the Master Sword influences in her character. Her face is all blade and sharp like too, and she's made out of steel with a matching color scheme.

I'm sure it's a character that can turn into a sword. Hey, weirder things go on in the Zelda universe so seems a relatively reasonable guess for now :D I mean ,traditionally Zelda games always feature an awesome guiding character that also functions as a game mechanic, like the Boat Dragon from Wind Waker, or the talking Duck Hat from Minish Cap.

Fixed it for you (albeit, sometimes they're awesome, but most of the time it's the substitute).
