Morning Discussion: Live Free or E3 Hard

E3 officially draws to a close today, though as it apparently started four days early this year, who knows how long it could go on for? I'm beginning to feel like a small child stuffed full of sweeties and plonked on a carousel: yes, this is all jolly good fun, but if you don't stop right now I am going to vomit all down my summer frock.

As ever, our E3 2009 category will play host to the multitude of screens, announcements and trailers. Have a rummage, you're bound to find something exciting you've missed.

According to Robert Ashley, Harmonix modified and quantized the Beatles songs for Beatles Rock Band :(

What on earth does that mean?

The Beatles do a lot of funky out-of-time fills and riffs and so on, they're removing that instead of modifying the game to take it into account.

Well, everything is literally "quantized" at some level, yes. But it sounds like they're fitting the songs to a regular time, which is not necessary -- a processor doesn't have any trouble with notes that have an irregular pattern, although I guess the GH engine might.

I don't think so, you've played The Who tracks on drums right? None of that shit is on the same beat.

Damn Beatles, always playing out of time. What crappy musicians.

Every song is remixed by Timbaland and sung by Tay Zonday

Until there is clear indication of the severity of the problem, it is too early to be worried.

No way the surviving Beatles would let Harmonix butcher their songs. I'm sure they'll be fine.
