Obsidian's espionage RPG Alpha Protocol lets players create their own perfect secret agent--a stealth assassin who strikes from the shadows and vanishes without a trace.

You can also toss all that malarkey out the window in favour of tailoring your spy for firefights, explosions and all-round devastation, as new screenshots demonstrate.

Alpha Protocol is out for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in October.

As much as I would like to believe Obsidian have got this one right, their track record isn't too impressive.....KotOR 2 anyone? Bugged as hell and a convoluted nonsense storyline, central characters with no names...it was despicable. Lets hope they get this one right, cos Bioware they ain't.

This game looks great. I just really wish the main character wasn't so generic looking. It would be great if we could create our own like in Mass effect. Or Obivion or Fallout.
