EGM Founder Reacquires Magazine, Plans Revival
by Nick Breckon, May 29, 2009 5:25pm PDTThe founder of Electronic Gaming Magazine has purchased the publishing rights and trademarks for the magazine in preparation for a resurrection of the publication, according to a press release.
Originally founded in 1989 by Steve Harris, EGM was discontinued by owner Ziff Davis just prior to UGO's January acquisition of the 1UP Network.
Harris is now planning to bring the magazine back in the second half of 2009, promising more announcements on EGM's new website during E3.
"The re-launch of Electronic Gaming Monthly represents a welcome opportunity to continue delivering quality content to gaming enthusiasts," said Harris in a release. "I feel honored to once again be associated with this respected magazine. The talented writers and designers who built upon EGM's original vision have left behind a publication that is uniquely positioned to be successful."

I'd love to see Computer Player and Computer Gaming World with the same quality they had in the early half of the 90s make a come-back...those and early 90s quality EGM would be great!
