Relic's 'Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine' Coming to Xbox 360, PS3 (Updated)

Update: THQ has confirmed to us that the early pre-production footage of Space Marine leaked last September was produced by a studio other than Relic, and does not represent the current game.
Original story: A new console-specific Warhammer 40,000 action game is heading to consoles courtesy of Dawn of War developer Relic.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine (360, PS3) will see players controlling a single space marine across an action-heavy campaign, according to IGN. A trailer for the game shows a zoomed-in battlefield rendered in the Dawn of War style.
Relic says that players will gain items over the course of the title, and that it is placing a big focus on multiplayer, though few specifics have been divulged. Thanks to Chepito for the alert. Check out the new trailer below:

Also, Relic really needs to get Dan Abnett (far and away the best 40k author) to write a story and characters for one of their games. The story and characters, at least in DoW1 (haven't played DoW2 yet because of my current system), were pretty terrible.

I wish they would back off on the Space Marines, though. I know they are the face of 40k, but I am sad about only having a single campaign in Dawn of War 2. If anybody from Relic reads this, that was a poor decision! I loved that campaign and putting out some more stuff of that quality for the other races would have turned your game from one of my favorites this year to one of the best of all time!

Then again, I know almost nothing about the Warhammer license, I can't get enough of action games in the style of God of War, and I don't really play games on my PC. I can appreciate that other people might have problems with this game for one or more reasons.
