BioShock 2 Officially Dated for November 3, Launch Platforms Confirmed

30
Take-Two today announced the official release dates for 2K Marin's BioShock 2.

The anticipated sequel will hit stores on November 3 in North America. Meanwhile, the game will arrive a few days earlier across international territories, on October 30. While official BioShock outlet The Cult of Rapture reports the game is set for a simultaneous launch on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Take-Two was reluctant to confirm the game's platforms during its earnings call today.

November will be a busy month. So far we have Modern Warfare 2 and Bioshock 2 just a week apart.

And I'm sure it will only get worse. I still have games from last holiday season to get to!

of all things, I've owned Oblivion since release and still havent played it. I have played Fallout 3 to the point of talking to people in Megaton though.

I LOVED Bioshock 1. But I won't spend $120 bucks on games that month and I will be buying COD MW2

When the movie industry is worried about staggering major releases side by side (thus cannibalizing sales), the potential for the problem has to be magnified for video games. Movies ~ $10 a pop, last two hours. Games are ~$40-60 a pop and can last anywhere from three to 300 hours.

I cannot agree with you guys enough. Nobody wants to be the first one to break from the fall release season and yield that lucrative time frame to a competitor. So, they're all going to pile in and slug it out...again...hoping they'll be one of the few multi million copy sellers (i.e. survivors). EA was one of the losers last year. Who will it be this time? Starcraft 2 is probably going to hit before the end of the year. That thing will divert a few purchases.
