I am thinking about getting Team Fortress 2 today. Is there a high number of people playing on servers 24/7? I hear about the strategic aspect of the game, but when i look up gameplay videos, they look alot like Q3 Arena CTF or somethin.

I need the shack's input on this game - is it just deathmatch wrapped up with alternate game modes that no one uses, or what?
