I'm not sure I believe it. I enjoy working on my car but I think if I did that for a living, I wouldn't want to do it in my time off. Right now I bake things but I sure as hell don't do it when I come home. Maybe when I'm doing something else for a living, I will.
I bring this up because I'm having trouble figuring out what I want to do with my life (which I'm sure a lot of us do). Work has been frustrating me more than normal lately, and although the money is good; I'm just not sure it is what I want to do long term.

Next door is a completion hangar, mechanics working to finish aircraft, take care of squaks, get birds ready for a customer to pick up. And I simply *love* and *envy* how laid back and straight up the work environment is over there. A guy can walk up to the group leader at the desk and say "What's next mother fucker?" and just get a laugh and told to get to work on the next problem. People laugh and it's not about a joke someone made about their property taxes or how they feel the need to buy an even better TV, people are just decent people out there. You can yell, you can act like a human.
The pay isn't as good, starting out techs in that area make about $17.50 an hour, but there's a lot of overtime available for those that want it so that helps, and sometimes you have to work overtime so there's usually a little extra each month. And it's not hard labor by any means, just stick with a project and ask the right questions and try to remember how things were solved the last time... you probably get the idea. It's not bad work at all.
