The second downloadable map pack for Guerrilla's PlayStation 3-exclusive shooter Killzone 2 will arrive in the European PlayStation Store on June 11, publisher Sony said today. The North American date was not confirmed, but is expected to be the same. Dubbed "The Flash and Thunder Pack" and described by Sony as "the second awesome instalment" of Killzone 2 DLC, the download contains remakes of two multiplayer maps from the first Killzone game: Beach Head and Southern Hills.

No price was given. The first map pack, Steel and Titanium, sold for $5.99.

Update: Sony has confirmed that the pack will hit North America on 6/11 for $5.99.

I really hope they don't just rely on Map pack DLC to keep this game fresh and interesting. They could do so much more if they just drew from the single player experience a little. Hopefully they have something a little more ambitious planned.

In situations like these MP DLC content (at least for me) prevents me from buying the game. I don't want to have to step into a game for 60$ and instantly have to shell out another 15 - 20 just to get into the MP.

I dont' know if you "have" to do anything. There is 60 dollars worth of value in the game already, so I that's not usually a problem for me.

Why do you have to buy it? you just can't play the new maps. I don't understand how people think that releasing MORE content somehow makes the game worth less.
