            I think it really goes back to the fact that the invention of the GUI wasn't a unique concept that only one person could have developed. It was a natural evolution from the current technological situation. The fact that everyone stole from each other had little to do with the uniqueness of the ideas, but more to do with the difficulty to actually implement them. Serpico's comment on Apple's ability to execute and implement is really what they've done well, and that is their legacy. The comparison to Edison I don't necessarily agree with, as I don't respect his accomplishments that much, and I see him as more of a roadblock to innovation that a conduit for it. I wouldn't say the same about Apple even though all tech companies roadblock innovation at times
