Realtime Releases APB Shot, Confirms E3 Attendance
The screenshot--which shows off the character customization that "will make up a large part of APB"--was also accompanied by the news that Realtime will be attending E3.
Wrote the company: "We know [the wait for the game] can be frustrating for fans, so to show our appreciation we have decided to inform you guys that yes we WILL be at E3 this year and this will mark the start of lots more news, activities and information coming out about APB: All Points Bulletin."
APB marks the studio's follow-up to its open world shooter Crackdown. The MMO's development team is being lead by Dave Jones, creator of the original Grand Theft Auto.

This looks like fun but I wonder how long it will last as an action MMO.

I think they've got the right idea. Take GTA, add a persistent world, a system of progress, and character customization up the wazoo, and polish, polish, polish the mechanics until they're as tight and solid as Counter-Strike. It's got some real potential, the only question in my mind is whether or not they'll market the game right...

If it has a enough variety, the fact that its from the makers of Crackdown, Dave Jones is behind it and its practically a HUGE game of GTA the game should sell itself.
If you've seen the vids from GDC 08' you can see the absolutely ridiculously deep customization for your characters. Also there was a vid of a mission that was really well planned out.
The game has huge potential
