Evening Reading

Played a decent amount of Killing Floor, the zombie survival mod-turned-retail game from Tripwire. It certainly still feels more like a mod than a retail game, but I sort of like it with the right group of people.

I do wish that you could build actual barricades in both this game and Left 4 Dead. I have a gaming fetish that can only be sated by piling random objects in front of a door and playing hide-and-go-shoot. This explains my intense love of Resident Evil 4.

Repost of the UT3 map I posted about earlier. A friend of mine worked on this map:

It's entered into the Make Something Unreal contest. It's VCTF and it's a blast to play. The hook is that you can shoot the glass in the walkways and you can turn the energy bridges off by shooting the control panels and turn them on by touching them. Or just use the "use" key on them, but shooting them allows them to be shut off at a distance.

      Well Mass Effect is really more like every sci fi painter ever smushed together in a way that just doesn't come off as good as any of them. If they ripped off Syd Mead succinctly their technology/vehicles would have been a lot cooler and bolder looking :P
