Mass Effect 2 Trailer Provides 'Prelude to E3'

BioWare has released a new teaser trailer for Mass Effect 2, hyping up the various changes and providing some slightly-obscured gameplay footage of the action-RPG.

The second in a planned trilogy, Mass Effect 2 is slated to hit PC and Xbox 360 in early 2010. A playable demo of the game will be shown at E3, which runs from June 2-4.

I'm really curious as to how they can continue the storyline in Mass Effect 2. There's at least four possible endings for Mass Effect 1, they're going to have to either choose one of them as cannon or do some kind of KOTOR 2 thing

Some thoughts:

- please go farther than Demiurge studios and completely rewrite the inventory system.

- Make side missions on various planets in the same vain as Bethesda's F3 and Oblivion. Lots of variety in mini-stories, places, atmosphere and with really interesting characters. You haves universe at your disposal.

- double the size of the citadel, please, I just wantrun around there for days talking and completing little quests and stuff.

- let us play as Wrex's species!

on the pc version, when you beat the game how do you play with your same character again so you can get up to level 60. i heard you can do this but when you go into the game it just loads back up from the previous save game before the end. i wonder how this will carry over decisions made at the end of the game because of that

Almost done Mass Effect 1. I'm surprised how short the main story line is when the optional stuff is such complete crap. And the RPG elements seem much weaker than I expected from all the hype surrounding the game. That said, I'm eager to see how they've improved on it.

I'd love to see space battles, I know that it would be pretty tough to do. But imagine taking your ship and having battles like you would see in Star Trek. Although, i'm sure they won't do that, its all ground combat. Just an idea though.

I just hope they improve unexplored worlds and other planets. It kind of sucked driving around on an empty rock. Also, ME2 really should include tali and some way to bang/lesbianize her/it. The three fingers and tail don't bother me at all and I really wanted Shepard to romance that ass instead of that bitch Ashley or the blue tentacle face annoying girl.

The first thing that runs through my mind, watching this, is at what point did it start making sense to build up hype for something that pretty much only exists to build hype in the first place? This is like a trailer for a trailer.

The second is this got me excited enough about ME2 that I am not even going to watch whatever shows up at E3. Media blackout time!
