Explosive Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood Screenshots

by Alice O'Connor, May 15, 2009 9:36am PDT

New screenshots of Techland's first-person shooter Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood today enthrall with promises of dual six-shooters, explosive barrels and many fine hats.

There's also a monster-sized civil war battlefield poster if you fancy a new wallpaper.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is out this summer on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

  • The first Juarez had several "shit this is awesome" moments but the design standards haven't held up well these past couple years. I just played it for the first time a couple weeks ago.

Holding a bible in one hand and a gun in the other... genius. "THE LORD HATES YOU" *BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM*

Having to play through a level and than replay that same level as the guy who is "chasing" you was pretty lame.

The level design towards the end of the game seemed tossed together.

The huge open world style areas made me want a an old western Oblivion.

Otherwise, there were all kinds of moments where you'd die and have to replay a part, and THAT was the point, trial and error until you figure out the right path or way to go. No indicators to successfully navigate those parts. Just had to die. The sneaking parts this was especially through. It's like they didn't made that mechanic difficult or interesting enough to stand on it's own so they had to throw curve balls at you.
