Star Wars: The Old Republic Gets 'Trooper' Class
by Nick Breckon, May 08, 2009 5:33pm PDT"Not all heroes carry Lightsabers. Some just have the will to fight," begins the description to BioWare's latest class announcement for its upcoming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic.
The Trooper--a member of the Republic's armed forces--typically moves in "specialized squads," according to BioWare. But for the sake of the MMO, it is of course "not uncommon, however, to see a Trooper engaging enemies on his or her own."
Troopers are protected by specialized armor, and make use of heavy blasters to take down foes--as can be seen in the video below.
BioWare's MMO is expected to hit the PC sometime down the road.

While I understand that they all share Similarities, if you look at the Storm Troopers etc from the Original Trilogy vs The Prequel Trilogy, though they have similarities they have their obvious progressive differences.
The "Trooper" with the Yellowish-Orange Mask, looks pretty DAMN close to the Clone Troopers from Episode III.
With this being several decades in the past, I'm hoping a lot of the gear looks a little more like stuff we'd see in Knights Of The Old Republic vs what we might see in Republic Commando.
(Unless of course the sets they've shown are the ones that look the most like the "Troopers" we're familiar with, for the purpose of promotional interest etc.)
